cav Section

Purpose:

The cav section of the expert grid generator file controls the distance the prismatic generator scans for tight cavities. This overrides the automatic distance used by default. This automatic distance is calculated based on input parameters and is typically a good value for most cases. However, this distance can be modified to either turn off cavity detection or to reduce the looking distance for cases where cavity detection is not important.

Description:

Line 1: Prismatic Cavity Looking Distance

This parameter sets the distance the prisms look to determine the local cavity distance, i.e. how far the nearest surface is located in front of the marching surface. By default this parameter is calculated automatically. Setting this parameter to 0 will turn off cavity detection.
