mvs Section

Purpose:

The mvs section of the expert grid generator file controls the surface mesh movement process. These parameters allow the user to control the amount of the mesh that moves rigidly with respect to the adjacent curves.

Description:

Line 1: Surface Mesh Movement Rigid Control Parameter

This parameter sets distance within which elements move rigidly with respect to the body. It is a factor that is multiplied by the maximum boundary movement. The default is 0.25 (without the egg file) or whatever value is specified via the mov egg. Improvement has been seen by both lowering to about 0.15 and raising it to as high as 0.75.

Line 2: SurfaceMesh Movement Fixed Control Parameter (Optional)

This parameter sets distance outside of which elements are held fixed at their original locationd. It is a factor that is multiplied by the maximum boundary movement. The default is 7.0 (without the egg file or with only one line in the mvs egg section) or whatever value is specified via the mov egg. Improvement has been seen by both lowering to about 4.0 and raising it to as high as 20.0.
