Blocks/Hexahedra Menu
This menu contains a set of operations for dealing with blocks and hexahedra including structured hexahedral blocks, structured quad layers and wake blocks.
This option opens the Create Block wizard allowing for simple creation of Blocks and Wake Blocks in a guided manner.
This option opens a Block Management Window where the user can manage all the existing Blocks or create new Blocks.
Load Block File…
This option will read an hxb file. This file can be either saved from an existing case or created using an external tool.
Save Block File…
This option will save out the current set of structured blocks to a casename.hxb file. This file can be used to transfer blocks from one case to another.
Note that when saving a block file, there is an option that allows the block corner points to be matched with point list points. This allows for the blocks to be defined based on named points that can be shared by multiple blocks thus making the HXB file more general and easier to be shared between multiple cases.
Block Templates
This option opens up the help window on a page providing information about block templates.
Load Block Template File…
This option will read an hbt file. This file can be either saved from an existing case or created using an external tool.
Save Block Template File…
This option will save out the current set of structured blocks to a casename.hbt file. This file can be used to transfer blocks from one case to another.
Note that when saving a block template file, there is an option that allows the block corner points to be matched with point list points. This allows for the blocks to be defined based on named points that can be shared by multiple blocks thus making the HBT file more general and easier to be shared between multiple cases.
Delete All Blocks…
This option will remove all the current structured blocks from the current model setup.
Hide/Show Blocks
This option will toggle the display of the current set of structured blocks.
Auto Link Blocks
This option will attempt to automatically link all the blocks together where there are common face, edge or node locations.
Pick Block to Modify
This option causes the mouse to enter a special mode where blocks can be selected interactively. If one block is selected, the modify block window will open for that block. This allows for easy modification of a block shown in the graphics window. This function can also be activated with the Shift+HÂ hotkey.
This option allows for one or more block faces to be transformed (scaled, moved, rotated or flattened).
This option allows for H-Mesh corners to be defined for 2D cases.
